Our Story
MET delivers compelling visual narratives that transform bold ideas into unforgettable experiences. We take the time to understand what matters most to our clients, and care deeply about each project we have the privilege to be a part of. Our combination of expertise and resources can make the seemingly impossible, possible.
Growth
since 1977
Through significant investments for over 45 years, MET has grown from a local, single-person-operated print shop into an international enterprise, serving clients across all of North America. MET prides itself to be a Zero Waste, Carbon Neutral, family-owned, Canadian-operated organisation HeadQuartered in Vancouver, BC. We embrace our Canadian roots through sourcing primarily Canadian-made products, tools, and materials to use across all of our production paths.
Innovation, Collaboration, Excellence
In 1977, George Kallas founded MET Fine Printers with the foundation of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. George’s fascination with the emerging print technologies, combined with his passion for colour, was his inspiration of what the company has become today. The IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ – the Oscars of the print industry – has awarded MET as the global print leader for “bespoke quality and environmental excellence” 40 times over, making MET the most awarded printer in all of Canada.
Our Community
The MET headquarters has always been located in East Vancouver, and we are very committed to the community we call home. Since the beginning MET has contributed significantly into community initiatives and events.
CANStruction
This project, developed in part by George Kallas, has been a huge success since its beginning in 2002. This annual event has raised more than 1.3 million cans of food for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
Ronald McDonald House
For the past several years, MET employees have volunteered to participate in preparing dinners for the families residing within the Ronald McDonald House.
RayCam
Each December for over a decade, MET hosts an internal donation drive for local charitable organizations, such as RayCam, over the holiday season.
BCIT GCOM internships
MET hosts student interns from BCIT’s Graphic Communications program each year, providing students a hands-on learning experience. Additionally, the Kallas family has continued to support funding and internships to this program at BCIT since their initial involvement over seven years ago.
Annual MET clothing drive
MET hosts an internal clothing drive annually to donate to local organisations, including Dress for Success Vancouver, Working Gear, and Downtown East-side Women’s Center.
