Junior Bindery Machine Operator

(CALGARY)

Permanent Full Time Position

Metropolitan Fine Printers Calgary is looking for a mechanically inclined individual who is able to work in a fast paced environment. An interest in print and print finishing processes is important, as is a willingness to learn with a diligent work ethic. A positive and can-do attitude is a must!

We are growing and are looking for eager individuals who have great attention to detail, and can get the job done! Competitive pay with great perks and benefits included. After a training period, duties would include:

  • Setting up machines to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings to achieve highest quality and production
  • Handle and feed material for semi-automated machines
  • Inspect finished work with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically for consistency
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain accurate activity logs
  • Maintenance of finishing machinery

Administrative Assistant

(CALGARY)

Temporary (Mat Leave) Full Time Position

We are looking for a dynamic individual who can take on a variety of tasks, while delivering a great front of shop experience for our customers and guests. You have great organizational skills, are personable, and are a master multitasker! In addition to this, you also have the below skills/experience:


  • Experience working with people, previous reception experience is considered an asset
  • Great communication skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • The ability to assist all departments when needed
  • Experience with billing & A/R
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite & Google Suite
  • Has experience working within a team
  • Has the ability to take instruction

Responsibilities

  • Managing the front desk and answering the company phone
  • Setting up meetings
  • Front of house/boardroom/breakroom maintenance
  • Making travel arrangements for staff when necessary
  • Invoicing, billing and A/R for completed jobs
  • Ordering supplies for the office when inventory is low
  • Ensuring MET communications and internal documents are current
  • Data entry for new clients and sales commissions
  • Order processing for MET's digital storefront and forwarding requests to the respective planner
  • Research and development for outside vendors when necessary
  • Creating purchase orders for all repairs and maintenance when required

  • Technical Diploma or equivalent external qualification in printing or industry experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of consultative B2B customer service and or sales experience.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills essential, customer service driven attitude and sales driver orientation
  • High organizational skills. Proven ability to own sales opportunities through all cycles of the sales process, from qualifying leads, uncovering and identifying the needs, fostering the relationship, to closing deals
  • Outgoing, open to change, self-driven, high energy, positive personality, active listener and goal oriented
  • Excellent organizational, communication, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Experience with CRM/database tools is a definite asset
  • Occasional travel required but minimal

Responsibilities

  • Increase overall sales revenues by maintaining and growing assigned and new customer base through rapport building and providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Contact historical and current customer bases to identify and secure new sales opportunities; provide potential clients with information on our products and services with a strong focus on opportunity spotting and the advantages of product upgrades.
  • Work closely with customers to determine their requirements, and make cost-effective and innovative recommendations related to their required communication products and services.
  • Regular and routine follow-up on open quotations.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to management on customer challenges, competitive business practices, and other needed business activities.
  • Provide business planning, order forecasting, business prioritization recommendations, and other business needs as appropriate to management, through weekly pipeline reporting.
